A useful estimate starts with the parts of the job that cannot be guessed from a street address. Work through the steps below before you call or send photos.
Measure the spa footprint
Record the outside length, width, and height. Note whether the spa is freestanding, partially recessed, or built into a deck. A manufacturer model number can help, but current dimensions and photos matter more than a brochure.
Measure the narrowest gate
Open the gate fully and measure the clear space between the parts that cannot move. Include hinges, posts, utility boxes, and latches that reduce the opening. Photograph the tape measure in place.
Check every turn
A wide gate can still lead to a ninety-degree turn that a large component cannot clear. Measure the usable width at corners and show fences, eaves, air-conditioning equipment, and landscaping on both sides.
Count steps and elevation changes
Photograph stairs, deck edges, slopes, gravel, and soft ground. These details affect how components can be moved and whether the ordinary removal method fits the property.
Confirm the loading position
- Distance from spa to gate
- Distance from gate to truck
- Driveway width and slope
- Street or parking restrictions
- Overhead branches or wires
The spa should be drained and its utilities made safe before removal. Do not cut electrical or plumbing connections as part of measuring.
